Production Manager in Thomson, Georgia

Ensure machinery and equipment are operated in a safe manner following established safety procedures, maintains a safe and clean working environment, follows established tool control procedure and corrects any unsafe acts or conditions and reports corrections to immediate supervisor.
Reviews drawings for new product design or product enhancements and ensures proper tooling and procedures are developed to implement change according to schedule; works with Sourcing to assure designs are released timely, purchased materials/parts are received and inspected according to schedule, and produced parts are manufactured according to customer?s specifications.
Works in conjunction with Quality and performs periodic audits of product structures with Engineering to ensure that product structures are accurate and up to date with the product being produced.
Assures that a receiving system is in place to control the accuracy of the material movements. Is responsible for communicating accurate material movements per the established production reporting process.
Ensures that all Sales Orders, ASN's, Shipping Documents and Receiving Documents are properly processed in an accurate and timely manner. Ensures that packing slips and invoices are matched and processed in a timely manner.
Ensures that all company associates have skills necessary to perform assigned work and that each associate has had documented training program.
Communicates with immediate supervisor, internal departments and various outside suppliers to ensure that project schedules and company goals are maintained and completed in a timely manner. Reports any problems that may have arisen during the course of the project.
Conducts vendor survey?s; visits suppliers and customers to assess capabilities, equipment, tooling and quality and prepares related report.
Provides associates with information related to processes that will insure products will be of the highest levels or quality possible. Develops manufacturing systems that are self-regulating and require minimal subjective analysis.
Compliance with ISO-xxxx policies and procedures.
 
Job Requirements:
Must possess working knowledge of computer software operations to include Microsoft Office, Excel, and MRP systems.
Must possess ability to communicate both orally and in writing and ability to enter information into a computer system quickly and accurately.
A good understanding of mechanical processes is necessary and knowledge of engineering terminology is desirable.
Experience in the discipline of Lean Manufacturing.
Must have experience working in contract manufacturing.
Must be able to complete major projects with little or no supervision.
Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering highly preferred.
